Our Story

In 2019, two Peer Support Specialists at Clearview Recovery Center shared a dream. They recognized a need for more sober living options for individuals who had completed treatment and were seeking a safe, supportive environment in which to launch their new lives in recovery.

The two peers spent countless hours learning, dreaming, and designing a program that would maximize participants' chances for success and help each person thrive. Soon, a compassionate counselor with more than 20 years of experience joined the team and helped shape the program and its services. Later, a dedicated attorney with a deep desire to serve others came alongside them, helping turn the vision into reality.

In May 2022, during a meeting at a small coffee shop, the organizing documents were signed, and the collective dream became a reality. Renters for Recovery was born.

Since then, two additional board members have joined the organization: a hardworking husband with a servant's heart and a friend with lived experience in both sober living and recovery. Together, our diverse experiences became the perfect recipe for creating a program that could support individuals as they began rebuilding their lives.

In 2023, we hosted our first fundraiser, Rummage for Recovery. Through the generosity of our supporters, we raised the funds needed to open our first recovery residence, Interlude House for Women, in March 2024. More importantly, we witnessed an entire community rise up around us—people who believe in change, restoration, and the immeasurable value of every person.

Today, more than two years later, we are still going strong. Along the way, we have learned valuable lessons, shed tears, shared laughter, and walked through life's challenges and victories alongside the women we serve—women we now lovingly call our sisters.

Interlude House is more than a place to live.

It is hope. It is healing. It is connection.

It is a home where we work hard and love even harder. We have honest conversations because we know that growth is sometimes uncomfortable. Every day, we strive to help our ladies understand how valued, loved, and worthy they truly are.

Since its founding, Renters for Recovery has remained focused on empowering participants through accountability, peer support, life-skills development, and a recovery-centered community. What began as a simple dream among a few passionate professionals has grown into a mission-driven organization dedicated to helping individuals rebuild their lives, restore hope, and achieve lasting recovery.

Today, we continue to believe that recovery is possible for everyone, and we are honored to walk alongside those who choose to pursue a new way of life.

Life brings us to unexpected places; Love brings us home
